“Dear Dr. Jovkar:
I would like to begin by saying, “Thank You, Thank You” for the improved quality of life you have given my 99 year old mother.
Mother was born deaf and relies on reading lips to communicate. Her sight was getting so bad; she was unable to see my lips unless I was standing just a few inches away from her. Life was getting difficult for her, (as well as for me).
Since October 6, 2009, the day after you performed cataract surgery on her right eye, she has enjoyed life to its fullest.
When I brought her home after having the bandage removed, she literally “danced” down the hallway. She now reads every magazine she can get her hands on. She takes joy in pointing out the houses way up on the hillside. She reads road signs on every trip we take and poins out new buildings and changes to the scenery. She reads the license plate of every car in front of us. I now have to do a better job of house cleaning because she sees, (and tells me about) every cobweb.
Mother has always enjoyed people and now, with her quick wit and MUCH IMPROVED EYE SIGHT, she is once again able to communicate with them.
Thank you for being willing to operate on a 98 year old, severely deaf lady.
I am very grateful to you for having improved the quality of her life. She is now looking forward to her 100th birthday in 2011.
